Ordered and it was here before I even thought about it again.
With a few little starbursts for the halloween season. So thoughtful.
I love this beautiful color of Orange (Slice of Orange) and the sheen to this filament. I opened it early and got distracted so I had to dry it out a bit and Voilà! a great print ensued. It inspired me to start a core XY build featuring this filament (I'd better order enough in case in disappears!). I love the fact that it's made here is the good old U...S....of...A. I am using it on my highly modifed Ender 3 with Duet 2 WiFi, Cura Slicer at 0.18mm layer height, Hemera extruder. 225 C hot end temperature, 75 C borosilacate glass bed and magigoo to hold it in place. I am going to have to look into a Slice Engineering hot end ... Mosquito Magnum for the new build but E3D is giving me a nursing essential worker discount....hint hint ;). Love the filament and highly recommend it!!!
Extremely easy to use on any printer. The orange color is perfect, definitely the best orange color that I have used. Basically naval orange color. Great adhesion and layer quality with an unmodified Ender 3 Pro. Very very low stringing and super strong. 100% would recommend!
Settings on Ender 3 Pro - 220 hotend, 65 glass bed with purple glue, 6.5mm retraction @ 25 speed, printing speed @ 55 mm/sec
It started out looking really bad. Could not get any layer adhesion. Temp tower snapped really easily at all temps tested. Put filament in dryer for a few hours. No I'm having extremely great results. Fantastic prints.
I'm in the process of buildinng up a TwoTrees Sapphire plus CoreXY as my own "ultimate" fdm printer. It will be modded with a Duet 2 wifi control board, Zesty Nimble extruder, and Slice Engineering's mosquito hot end with all the trimmings (slice heater, thermistor, etc).
Since I will need to fabricate bracketry for this project, what better material than Slice Orange? So far ive just run up a Benchy but color and all other parameters look great.
Honestly, the only product improvement I can think of would be if GreenGate3D could conspire further with Slice to include a Slice lollipop with each spool ;)
