GreenGate filament is Grea

To start I honestly love all of the GreenGate3D filament I hav used. By far one of my favorite PETGs.

This glow in the dark filament is really cool though. I prints well as the additive really gets bright when you expose it to UV light. Definitely picking up more so I can print spooky season items fr my shop!

Unique PETG, add to your product library

Here's a thorough breakdown of some pros and cons with this filament:

First off, buyers should appreciate that when you purchase this petG you are keeping 1kg of plastic waste out of a landfill. Considering that this is both a US made filament and one of the very few recycled options for petG on the market today, I highly recommend it to enthusiasts and professionals looking for an advanced petG option in their material library.

This petG is formed from reclaimed PET that has slightly different properties compared to virgin PET. I would not recommend this as your first petG experience especially if you are new to 3D printing or working with petG in general.

Otherwise this is a great product.

We found high reliably running at 40-50mm/s at 240C and a plate temperature >60C. This material can easily be pushed to 80-100mm/s with appropriate equipment. Strong adhesion to buildtak means this material is better suited to a raft, taped/treated bed or glass surface approach for getting a good first layer that is later easy to remove.

The glow in the dark additive is generous and this filament charges quickly even under artificial lighting conditions to produce a subtle green/white glow. Glow endurance is around ~15 minutes with a full charge and outperforms many value brands.

Working with a recycled material makes addressing hydration a bit more challenging. If you are a hydration hydrophobe, degas before using.

In terms of physical strength, there are slightly better alternatives in virgin petG but this is a tradeoff for gaining the environmental benefits of a recycled plastic. GreenGate3D's recycled pellet extrusion process produces a reliable +/- 0.05 filament.

A 1kg glow in the dark spool in contained only 1 deviation > +/- 0.05mm which is good compared to value petG brands which usually contains around 3-5 major deviations per kg spool.

Happy printing,
