This is my first roll of GG3D PET-G that I've tried. I was super excited to be able to find a supplier that produced filament in the US and was even more pleased to find that it was made from recycled material. Shipping was prompt with a few unexpected extras in the box :)
As for the Pink Grapefruit, I love it. The color is beautiful and a bit subdued, which I like a lot. Also, this stuff is super strong. Inter-layer adhesion with this filament is great, resulting in super strong parts. It also prints really smooth. While I do like this filament and will be trying more colors from GG3D, there are some things I noticed compared to other PET-G filaments I've used (Overture and Hatchbox):
-It likes a lower temperature than I'm used to. On my Ender 3 Pro, I print this at 205C when I would normally use 235C. Reduces wait time for warm-up.
-I had to turn the bed temp down to 70C. When I used 90C like I'm used to, the first layer would have great adhesion, but it would cause the subsequent few mm of layers to shrink inwards. Reduces warm-up time even further.
-This filament doesn't seem to withstand as high of a temperature as others. I put a print that I finished onto the bed set to 90C and it warped considerably and became very soft.
-Parts with overhangs need to be printed slow and with tons of cooling. I had to print parts with overhangs at about 15mm/s and 100% cooling to prevent the overhangs from curling up. Once you do this, it prints nicely, but very slow.
Sorry for the long write up, but I hope this is useful to someone. I'll definitely be buying more from GG3D in the future, including this color once I run out. Thanks GG3D and keep up the good work!
