I had received a sample of Pink Grapefruit in a subscription box and knew that I had to have more! Pink Grapefruit renewed my love of PET-G. Thanks, GreenGate!
The filament refracts light quite distinctly depending on the temperature extruded at, wall thickness, and individual layer widths. Brilliant color and filament. On a .8 nozzle its a whole different print from the .4mm. What a beautiful filament and color. Within acceptable tolerances for consistency in diameter and clarity. As all PETG, keep it dry, it's a very lovely color and blend for all sorts of wonderful projects.
I go to this color when I want something with a soft elegance and a balance of translucency. This won't be the brightest thing to catch your attention when you walk into a room... but sometimes you want that. You want it to exist and serve its purpose for when you get closer and then you get to appreciate the object detail and (depending on the thickness) the awe that comes from slightly seeing the infill pattern (if applicable).
Being that the filament is translucent the pink grapefruit color isn't as vibrant as a non-translucent filament. In my case, this was exactly the effect I wanted printing up the unicorn sun catcher on Thingiverse. I used all GG filaments for that print (white, black, ice blue, grapefruit pink and crystal clear). The filament prints fantastic!
I used to be a budget PLA filament buyer. Until I went out on a limb and bought the GG filament! Time is money and I wasted so much time (and filament) due to the inconsistencies between one budget PLA buy and the next. From now on, I'll buy the GG filament. The consistent prints (and fact that its recycled) make the slight added expense worth it to me!
Now they just need more colors :D.
This color is amazing! when it came out of the box my girlfriend loved the color and I have been making all kinds of stuff for her with this color! When your settings are dialed in on your printer this stuff prints great! When I finish the roll of this that I have now, I will have another roll coming!
